6 April 2020 Blog Post: COVID-19 Update

In maybe a little bit of good news, it appears that from data generated in our clinic that community rates of coronavirus may be decreasing. I have published below a graph of our point prevalence rates from samples tested for COVID-19 here at Santa Monica Primary Care. Percentage by day that testing was administered is represented by the bold blue line.

The light blue line represents the trendline of data and beginning about one week ago (3/30/2020), our percentage of positive tests began to drop below this line. We continue to have a slight downwards trend extending to our most recent samples, obtained 4/3/2020.

At this writing, our cumulative percentage of positive tests is now at 12.1%. It was highest on 3/25/2020 at 15.52%. Shelter in place orders began in California on 3/19/2020.

Although we are reporting on small numbers, I am not aware of any other community based entity in our area that is providing point prevalence rates of coronavirus infection.
